Tee Ball
- Ages: LL 5-6
- Field: Victor Jones Park
Introductory league for 5-6 six year olds played at Victor Jones Park. This is a fun and simple introduction to Little League. Everyone hits off the tee each inning. Kids try to make outs but all hitters get to run the bases. Runners advance only one base at a time. Teaches the most basic skills. There is one 60 minute midweek practice and a one hour game on Saturday mornings. If there is an odd number of teams then one team will have a bye game each Saturday. Tee Ball teams are put together by the Tee Ball Commissioner based on friend requests. Every effort is made to ensure kids are playing with their friends.
Lower Rookie
- Ages: LL 7
- Field: Glenwood Rookie
This is a coach pitch league for 7 year olds played at the Glenwood rookie field at Glenwood Elementary School. Lower Rookie is an instructional division where every player bats once each inning and no score is kept. Players do try to record outs and retired batters return to the dugout. There is a one hour practice during the week and a one hour game on Saturday mornings. If there is an odd number of teams then one team will have a bye game each Saturday. Rookie teams are put together by the Rookie Commissioner based on friend requests. Every effort is made to ensure kids are playing with their friends.
Upper Rookie

- Field: Davidson 2
Upper Rookie is a machine pitch league for 8 year olds played at Davidson Middle School at the field at the front of the school. Upper Rookie is an instructional division and is the kids' first introduction to more competitive elements of baseball such as three outs retires the side. No score is kept. The pitching speed on the machine will be increased throughout the season. Upper Rookie is a key transition year to more competitive baseball and is designed to get kids ready to play in the Minors division. Upper Rookie teams are put together by the Upper Rookie Commissioner based on friend requests. Every effort is made to ensure kids are playing with their friends.
Minors
- Ages: LL 9-11
- Field: Davidson 1
Minors is a kid pitch league for 9-11 year olds. Minors is an instructional division introducing kids to more competitive baseball. Minors is played at Davidson Middle School at the field in back of the school. Kids do all of the pitching, it's three outs per side, stealing is allowed and a five run limit is imposed on offense. Scores and standings are kept and there is a double elimination tournament at the end of the season with a league Champion declared. All teams make the tournament and seeding is based on regular season results. The home plate and base umpires are typically 12-14 year old kids, often getting their first experience umpiring games. All players must play at least two innings of infield per game. There is one 90-120 minute practice during the week and one on Sunday until games start in late March. Once games start, there is a midweek game and a Saturday game, and Sunday practice. The season starts in late February or early March and runs until just before school gets out.
Minors teams are assembled from a managers’ draft. All players will attend an assessment in late January designed to assess their skills. In early February there is a competitive draft run by the Player Agent, where Minors division managers will take turns choosing players until all eligible players are on a team.
Majors
- Ages: LL 11-12
- Field: Glenwood Majors
Majors is a competitive division for 11 and 12 year olds. This is the division represented at the Little League World Series and commonly referred to as the Little League division. Majors plays at the Majors field at Glenwood Elementary School, which is San Rafael Little League’s flagship field. There is one 90-120 minute practice during the week and one on Sunday until games start in Mid March. Once games start, there is a midweek game and a Saturday game, and Sunday practice. The season starts in late February or early March and runs until just before school gets out.
Majors teams are assembled from a managers’ draft. All players will attend an assessment in late January designed to assess their skills. In early February there is a competitive draft run by the Player Agent, where Majors’ division managers will take turns choosing players until all eligible players are on a team. All LL age 12 year olds must be selected for a team. If a LL age 10 year old tries out for Majors, they must be selected by the end of the 5th round of the draft in order to play in the Majors division. 10 and 11 year old players not selected in the draft will automatically be placed in the Minors division draft.
50/70
- Ages: LL 13
- Field: Davidson 2
50/70 / Intermediate league for 13 year olds played at Davidson Middle School on a 50/70 field, where the mound is moved from 46 feet to 50 feet and the bases are moved from 60 feet to 70 feet. Great transitional league for kids who want to keep playing baseball but may not be ready to jump to Juniors. Please note that 50/70 may not be offered in any given year due to demand, field space, and availability of coaches. In that case players will be registered to play Juniors.
Juniors
- Ages: LL 13-15
- Field: Alberts Park, Vallecito 1 and other District 3 fields
Juniors is for 13-15 year olds. Played on the full size field (60/90) at Albert Park with a continuous lineup and expanded baseball rules, e.g., leads, steals, balks, double-switch. Practices start in late February/early March and are held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings and Saturday and Sunday mornings. The entire division practices together for the first couple of weeks and then the individual teams are created. Once games start, there is a midweek game, usually at Vallecito field near Terra Linda High School, and a Sunday home game at Albert Park. Practices are Saturday mornings and one weekday evening.
